Kristina Chapman, BSocSci History and Political Science

Background
Kristina was born in Ottawa but raised in the rural communities of Arnprior and West Carleton, west of the Nation's Capital. She was a very active member within these communities, participating on various sports teams and volunteering.
She is a five time participant in the National Capital Race Weekend 10k event. She was an athlete and volunteer for 13 years within the Arnprior/McNab/Braeside Ringette Association. She has also spent 4 years volunteering for the Arnprior Archives and another 3 years volunteering and then holding a paid position of summer employment for the Arnprior and District Museum. During high school, Kristina tutored a special needs child in basic reading and writing. Several summers were also spent volunteering as a gardener for Arnprior's participation in the national beautification competition, Communities in Bloom.
Upon graduating from Arnprior District High in 2005, Kristina received several accolades for her community participation: the Lieutenant Governor's Award for holding over 1400 hours of community service and the Young Heritage Leader's Award for her volunteer contributions to the community. She then moved to Ottawa to study politics and in her spare time she has participated in administrative duties at polling stations during past elections.
In 2009, Kristina graduated from the University of Ottawa with a double minor in Political Science and History. Directly after graduation, she moved to Calabogie, ON to pursue a career in restaurant management and ownership. While in Calabogie, she was on the board of directors for the Calabogie and Area Business Association.
Kristina’s deeply rooted ambition for a political career persisted and thus she made changes to pursue her true passion. In 2011, she moved to Ottawa to take on her political responsibilities full-time. Since living in Ottawa she has volunteered with a prominent city councillor, joined several sports teams, and works in a management position within the service industry.
